Post 115: El mame

In modern mexican slang, el mame can mean two things. One of its meanings its to talk about alcohol, the second one its to talk about new trends.  When someone says something like “me subi el tren del mame” means, I started being part of this trend. Its like saying, im getting on the train, just as the the other people following the trend already are.

No te vayas, aun queda mucho mame y la noche es joven. / Don’t go. There’s a lot of alcohol left, and night is still Young.

A todo el mundo le gusta esa canción, pero no quiero ser parte de ese mame. / Everybody like that song, but i don’t want to be part of that trend.
