Day 37: Te hace falta barrio.

This phrase literally means “you lack Neighborhood”. What it really means, its that you lack experience on something, or don’t know something, or that aren’t fond of something that most people on that place do, and they think you aren as cool as them for disliking that, its like saying, you arent family, you arent part of this neighborhood.

Ex.

Sabes manejar standard? – no- te hace falta barrio/do you know to drive on manual? – no- You lack experience.

Quieres cerveza- No me gusta – Te hace falta barrio/Want some beer? -I dont like it- You don’t know whats good.

I hope you have learned something new, about the spanish that real Mexicans talk on their everyday life.

If you want to improve your Spanish, I also give tutoring lessons on skype using this page that host many teachers from all over the world, and while I don’t really do grammar, I can help with conversation and doubts about the language. Also, if you are interested in any language besides spanish, there are teachers and tutors for any language there.
